The Range, Obey City, Octo Octa at Glasslands [11:30PM/$10]
Never mad about another opportunity to see the Range, the stupendously talented juke producer from Rhode Island. His Nonfiction LP is one of the best things that came out this year – read our extended gushings here. His live sets keep the audience engaged with plenty of rap and r&b over super fresh beats. Obey City is another big draw for us; his eclectic DJ sets excel in both fun and funk, pulling equally from underground bass music as well as classic r&b. His latest mix for Ssense is a tour-de-force in following the groove in ones heart instead of genre labels. Octo Octa fills out the lineup with his raw house sounds.

LIT CITY RAVE: DJ Manny, DJ Uniique, J-Cush, Durban, TCJ at 285 Kent [12AM/$10-12]
Lit City always brings the heat. Special guests for this one are the Chi’s own DJ Manny, and Jersey Club postergirl DJ Uniique. DJ Manny is a core member of the world-rocking Teklife crew (here’s a mix), with a lean, funky approach to footwork. Uniique has had a breakout year, and it’s definitely because of her show-stealing DJ sets. Bringing ballistic energy and a keen ear for fresh flips of anthemic club tracks, DJ Uniique is not to be missed. Residents J-Cush and Durban are joined by yung Teklife affiliate TCJ – his Grown Folks mix will knock your socks off, tearing through 30 unreleased tracks in 30 minutes.

Machinedrum Vapor City Live, Om Unit LP Release, Nick Hook, Body Language (DJ Set) at Music Hall of Williamsburg [9PM/$18-20]
WompBlog is stoked to announce that we’re giving away a pair of tickets to this show – details are all right here. Not only is this the NYC debut of Machinedrum’s Vapor City Live Tour, but it’s also the record release party for Om Unit’s truly outstanding Threads LP (out now on Civil Music). Both albums are some of the best bass music of the 2013, exploring the vast frontier of jungle, juke and all manner of nascent halftime mutations.
The show also features Nick Hook, a DJ set from Body Language, and special guest, Brooklyn’s own Angelica Bess. Angelica sings in Body Language and on the third track of Vapor City, Center Your Love, which you can hear/see in this very nice Vapor City World Tour trailer.
RECONSTRVCT: TMSV, IPman, Mock The Zuma, Deco, Joe Nice, True Nature at secret location [10PM/$20-35]
Nobody does it better than Reconstrvct. Now in their 3rd year, NYC’s seminal dubstep party always opens with True Nature and closes with Joe Nice (sans shoes) around 5 or 6am. In between, you’re treated to multiple international headliners on one of the most incredible soundsystems you’ll ever hear (and feel! those subs hit as low as 27hz!).
This time around, it’s TMSV from the Netherlands (I LOVE this mix by him), IPman from the UK, Mexico City’s Mock The Zuma and Atlanta-to-LA transplant Deco – those last 3 all have great interviews and mixes on BigUp if you follow the links. Location and set times will be announced via email, so make sure you pick up a presale ticket.
Gorgon City, Trippy Turtle, Dan Wender b2b Blacky II, Alex English at Slake [10PM/FREEwRSVP]
