FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27

LUCKYME: The Blessings, Obey City, Nick Hook, Doctor Jeep, Sheepshead, Chris UK, special guests at Cameo [11PM/FREE]
Last minute rager in the brand-new basement of Cameo Gallery. The Blessings are a DJ and design duo who are the founders of Glasgow label LuckyMe, and helped define their eclectic club sound. They’ve rallied the NYC affiliates – recent signee Obey City, and longtime homie Nick Hook (whose new house tunes with Doc Daneeka are bonkers, btw) along with our other favorite doctor, Doctor Jeep, Sheepshead and Chris UK. Free, but RSVP is gonna be a must for entry as the room only holds 100 people.

NIGHT SLUGS x FADE TO MIND: Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990, Kingdom, Rizzla, MikeQ, Jubilee, J-Cush at 285 Kent [10PM/$10]
ANOTHER last minute rager that only came together this afternoon. Bok Bok is in town for the Mishka thing last night, and L-Vis lives here now, so it’s only right that the two Night Slugs founders would reunite for a warehouse rave – hopefully they bust out some classic grimey slugs as well as the more recent club constructions. Naturally, sister-label Fade To Mind will be in full effect with Kingdom, Rizzla and Mike Q, plus support from allstars Jubilee and J-Cush.

15 YEARS OF DIRECT DRIVE: Concord Dawn (NZ), Jeru the Damaja, Raw Q, J-Smoke, Trigon, Jason Jinx, Lord Kimchi, Tunafase, MC Posi-D at Leftfield [10PM/$10]
Direct Drive continues celebration a decade-and-a-half of NYC dnb with 2 floors of bass at Leftfield. New Zealand’s Concord Dawn headlines one floor while hip hop legend Jeru the Damaja headlines the other. Heads will no doubt recall Jeru’s incredible unscheduled performance during SUB:STANCE night at Dub War with Scuba & Appleblim. Dude loves bass music! Plus the whole Direct Drive Crew, all only for $10!

RECONSTRVCT XV GetDarker: Darkside, Quantum Soul, Kursk, Gantz, Thelem, Wheez-ie, Joe Nice, True Nature, MC Twisty at secret location [10-6/$25-30]
The first reconstrvct of year 3, and they’re not slouching. Collaborating with GetDarker, which is THE dubstep livestream, they’ll be broadcasting the entire event, all eight sets! The first 5 (five!) headliners are pretty much the core roster of Innamind records, a UK label known for it’s fresh, dynamic dubstep sound. You can bet they’ll be giving that Tsunami Bass system some serious stress-testing.

And, oh yeah, this guy Wheez-ie, whose last Reconstrvct performance is inadequately summarized here. One of the top 5 best DJ sets I’ve ever seen, easily; Wheez-ie shoots the moon with tempo adjustments, injecting bass music with the frenetic energy of breakcore. The result is incomparable – but this mix almost sorta kinda does it justice..

This is happening in a brand new venue with limited capacity (NOT in Bushwick or Williamsburg) and the location will only be released to advance ticket holders. Given how hard the fuzz has been cracking down on illegal venues the last few weeks, that’s a good move.

PEACH CLUB: DJ Haus (Hot City/LDN), Galcher Lustwerk, Rem Koolhaus, Space Jam at 96 N 6th [10PM/Free-$5]
A new club night from Turrbotax’s Rem Koolhaus, and his new label Peach. Headliner DJ Haus (of trio Hot City) will lay down an absolutely smoking set of bassline house, garage-influenced heavy bass, and grimey, wobbly club tunes. Check out this 27 minute live mix; I’m totally fucking in love with it. Honestly, it sounds more like Trouble & Bass than Turrbotax, and I am NOT MAD. Galcher Lustwerk and fellow Turrboresident Space Jam support.

Hessle Audio Label Night: Ben UFO, Pearson Sound, Pangaea at Output [10PM/$15-25]
Ben, Pearson and Pangaea are back for an encore after absolutely destroying Output with a 6 hour b2b2b earlier this summer. Hessle Audio is one of the most influential labels in bass music, and it’s because these 3 guys run it. Expect to hear fresh sounds from every corner of the bass music universe: that dark grime/techno hybrid 130 sound, jungle/footwork and some newer wonky mutant house shit, as well as classic dubstep.
