Floating Points and Falty DL All Night at Output, Hunee and Jacques Renault in The Panther Room [10PM/$15-20]

Floating Points and Falty DL both take club music to spacious, atmospheric, experimental places without sacrificing groove. On the epic Output system, that’s gonna be a journey you’ll want to come along for. Smooth-house specialist Jacques Renault and guest Hunee (from Berlin!) will keep things bumpin in the side room.

Subverse-NYC: Dubtek (Berlin), Mesck (LA), I.N.I., Max Mischief at 287 Spring [10PM/$20]

Trueschool dubstep from the Subverse crew. The headliner, Dubtek, spins a energetic, dark dubstep with a minimal dnb edge to it. Nice feature mix here, albiet a bit chiller than most of his recent soundcloud posting. Seriously reinforced sound, an intimate room and craft cocktails (with an open bar for another $20, or $35 combined).

Hyetal, Braille, True Panther, Jim-E Stack at Glasslands [11:30PM/$10]

Techno producer Hyetal initially bubbled up from the dubstep diaspora, but he has strayed exceedingly far from it. Favoring percussive, textural bass music, what always strikes me about his selections are how much character every track has. His 2009 Fact mix is still a classic piece of bass music, and you can hear how he’s evolved further into techno terriroty with his recent Boiler Room set. Killer support lineup of similarly-minded bass music selectors Braille, DJ True Panther and Jim-E Stack.

GOLD RIVER: Kreuger, Copout, Sean Smith, Jerry Jones at Tandem Bar [10PM/FREE]

Jerry Jones loves all kinds of club music. He has a radio show devoted to it called Gold River – you might recall the Dr. Jeep guestmix we posted from there last week. Sometimes it manifests as a club night at Tandem, one of Bushwick’s best back-room dance bars. This time he’s hosting Philly bass music producers Kreuger and Copout, plus some dude named Sean Smith.

EPICENTER: Moldy, Eshone, The Tsunami Bass Experience, True Nature, hosted by Mc Zulu at House of Yes [10PM/$15-20]

Third in the event series curated by the best renegade sound system in town, the Tsunami Bass Experience, and you know it’s a family affair. Boston-based dubstep pioneer Moldy has been a regular on the NYC circuit since the Dubwar days. He’s joined by Reconstrvct favorite EshOne to coheadline one of the last events ever at House of Yes. Plus sets by True Nature, the Tsunami Bass folks themselves, and hosted by the iconic voice of MC Zulu. Dubstep fans, rejoice.

Andres, Paul Raffaele, Rinsed DJs at Cameo Gallery [12AM/$15-20]

Detroit legend Dez Andres has been playing in NYC quite a bit this last year, so if you haven’t caught him yet, fucking fix that. His immaculate blend of classic house infused with disco, hip-hop and soul is almost too tasty for words. Dog & Pony’s Paul Raffaele will bring house and disco and the recently kinda-blowin-up Rinsed DJs have a special audio-visual set of floor-oriented bass music..

F.R.A.T.: False Witness, Mess Kid, Mazurbate, Whatever 21 at Steel Drums [11PM/$7-10]

If you don’t know what #KUNQ is… I’m about to do an alright job of explaining it to you. Dark, gay, hyphy club music that wears it’s vogue-house and latin influences on the sleeve. This is the shit your coworkers will never know about, and you will never try to explain to them. False Witness has been one of the sound’s early champions, as has Mazurbate, a name you might recognize from this year’s GHE20G0TH1K lineups.
