FRIDAY, AUGUST 2
☆☆ ASTRO NAUTICO: Obey CIty (EP Release), Elan (Monkeytown ✈ LA), Jubilee, The Range, Paul Jones, Michael Jukeson, Tsunami Bass Sound at Freecandy [10PM/$5-10]
Obey City has been blowin up like we thought he would; his Champagne Sounds EP is coming out on Lucky Me next week, he’s become a resident on their Rinse.fm show, and dude is gettin gigs left right and center.. Between that and Astro Nautico’s recently completed kickstarter, there’s a lot to celebrate. Their second headliner, Mamiko Motto had to cancel due to medical ish, but they got an equally amazing replacement – eLan, from LA. He’s a beatmaker and keyboard player with releases on both of Modeselektor’s labels, Monkeytown and 50 Weapons. They liked him so much, they had him mix their Best of 2012 comp. And cuz great things come in threes, also guesting tonight is Jubilee, a certified Wompblog Allstar. Be it grime, miami bass, tropical or just all her favorite Rhianna tracks, Jess Jubillee only brings heat. View Event (offsite) »
GIRLS & BOYS: Pantyraid (MartyParty & Ooah), Grandtheft, Maxiavelli, Alex English, Rekles at Webster Hall [11PM/$15]
Pantyraid (Marty Party and OOAH of the Glitch Mob) have a new LP out,
Pillow Talk. Unlike Marty’s wild stylistic oscillations between releases, Pantyraid has remained true to their purple dubstep/glitch hop sound. On this release they’ve incorporated more trap elements, but that’s actually a good thing – not only are they bringing a more melodic, nuanced touch to the overdone genre of the year, but it’s also an outlet for Marty’s passionate love of dirty south rap. For more of that, check his free 5 volume
Young Pimp compilation of remixes from 2005-2010.
SCI FI & FANTASY present RELEASE: Max McFerren, Blacky II, Lamin Fofana, Mayster, Grayson Revoir, Dan Wender at secret location [10-6/FREEwRSVP]

Spirit of The Body EP. Check out
the mix Max put together to get an idea of their style – jackin beats with heavily weaponized techno basslines aimed straight at your booty. Location is secret so hop on that RSVP right quick before they release the info.
Rem Koolhaus, Volvox, Motion Studies at Bossa Nova Civic Club [10PM/FREE]
You can always count on Bossa Nova to have a great lineup with very little fanfare. Tonight it’s Volvox, who is the resident
funky techno specialist for a/v unit
Moon ii, Turrbotax resident Rem Koolhaus (who just started his own label, Peach, and
their first release is great), and a DJ set from Motion Studies, a live band that makes truly delicious
lo-fi house/dream-pop.
FULL SERVICE: Jack Inslee, Wreck Tech, Pool Boy 92, Mr. AOK, Jerry Jones at Rippers, Rockaways [6-10PM/FREE]

highly eclectic bass music party is taking a vacay to the Rockaways. Free tunes all night long, on the beach.
