In the wake of the drama earlier this week, in which the Earthtone DJ collective pulled their support (and headliner Quest) to throw their own competing Halloween show (free i you bought a ticket to Hz, $5 if you didn’t). But the Tsunami Bass Experience has recovered in fine form by booking Sam Fuckin’ Binga as their replacement headliner. He joins rave legend Nomine, GHOST PRODUCER (aka Raz Mesinai), Conscious Pilot and more.

Why are we so excited about Sam Binga? Because he’s been making absolutely incendiary 160-170bpm music, irresistable to junglists, hip hop heads and bass music fans alike. You have definitely wiled out to his tunes before, but here’s a quick refresher:

I first heard Sam Binga (not realizing he was fka Baobinga and I was already a fan) on this collab EP with Om Unit – which has aged really really well considering it was some of the first halftime/slowfast material I’d heard. I remember thinking man, whoever this guy is, he brings out a side of Om Unit that I LOVE. Gorgeous halftime bangers, brimming with melody.

Then I realized he also did THIS TUNE (with Addison Groove) which I was hearing everywhere last year

He has done a ton of tunes with fellow Bristolian Redders, whose charismatic flow perfectly complements Binga’s savage instrumentals. I think this was their first single together.

Can’t pick just one (or two) either – both the Redders tunes off this EP are solid gold. And the two tracks without vocals are incredible too!

This one is a BURNER but what else would you expect from Binga and Fracture?

And Sam’s new full length, Wasted Days, is so so good all the way through (take a listen). Incidentally, Saturday is the last stop on his US tour in support of it. There’s a lot of guest vocalists but my favorite has to be this peak-time banger with Bmore badgyal TT The Artist.

Finally, this was one of my favorite mixes from last year – Binga’s got newer ones but the selection and mixing here hit me just right. Especially the RZORCRAB blend around the 20 minute mark:

Yall like that shit??? Then come see him Saturday on NYC’s best soundsystem. Presale tickets are still available for $30, and will be more at the door. Oh, you like free things too? Then you should probably…
