First off, DJ Audio1 came through with MURDA IN AMERICA, one of the most breakneck, reckless, and fucking fun-as-hell DnB mixes I’ve heard in a hot minute. If you’re not familiar, Audio1 is one of the hardest working DJs on any coast – and an appreciator of my constructive criticism! Fair disclosure that I don’t really listen to DnB albums, but I know a good tracklist when I see one. Jam packed with old school gold, modern classics, and crowd-pleasing reworks, this will one have your grandma on the floor like it was a baptasia video. Next up, Plastic Thumbs dropped their seventh mix, Still Stoked, and it lives up to it’s name. Volumes one and two both absolutely dominated my listening for months. This one is complete and total 2-step bliss from start to finish. Starts out roughneck, then drops into some very inviting vibes with Zed Bias and Blawan. But Plastic Thumbs keep upping the gully until shit gets absolutely raucous, climaxing with completely bonkers remixes by Caspa and Hostage.  Finally, Detboi and Rustie provide a lovely digestif. [soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/26014444″]

Finally, new Solid Steel mix from Redrum hit me in all the right places. 20-years in and they still keep killin it. Lots of excellent glitchy-wompy-party jamz from Koan Sound, Opiuo, and A-skillz (mashing James Brown and Kool Keith to brilliant effect), Kormac brings the Swing-house, then a brilliant bridging of eras from 90s to today, showing why modern masters like Bok Bok and Foamo are the rightful spiritual heirs to the Limelight throne.[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/26473389″]
