Frite Nite Podcast 17 – XI

XI turns in a huge mix for the Frite Nite podcast. Herein lies everything I love about the increasingly nebulous genre known as future bass. The reason for this nebulous-ness to be ever increasing is partly because it’s a term that is mostly defined by what it is not (dubstep, house or techno) but also because it kinda sounds like a nebula. I know there’s no sound in space, you killjoy, but the way I imagine a nebula might sound, in a synaesthetic way. An awesome nebula, full of bass and 909s. But I digress.

XI is on tour all spring in support of Zeds Dead, which would be an awesome double bill, but unfortunately they’re skipping the NYC metro area entirely (can someone please fix this?). Anyway, here’s the mix, download, stream below or get it via podcast (itunes link)
