FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

Phaeleh, The-Drum, Moon Bounce, Enoe at Glasslands [11:30PM/$12-14]
If you like Author, Bonobo or Clubroot, chances are you fucking love Phaeleh – he’s my absolute favorite “chill” dubstep producers. And he’s playing TONIGHT at Glasslands, with a an excellent support lineup. While I’m crossing my fingers that they bring in some extra subs, it’s going to be a great show no matter what. People have a really passionate connection with his music, and the heads will definitely be out in force for this one. If you want a perfect introduction to his music, just click through for a ton of tunes and mixes.

2562, Martyn, Contakt at Output [10PM/$15-25]
Martyn and 2562/A Made Up Sound are both from Amsterdam, but who cares? More importantly, they’re both absolute masters of broken beats of the deep, techy post-dubstep variety. Both are prolific producers and DJs, capable of everything from introspective future bass to unimaginably deep bangers. On that righteous system, you can bet it will be more of the latter. Turrbotax resident and founder Contakt opens from 10 till midnight or 1.

BangOn! NYC presents Elements: Mr. Oizo, Funkystepz, Harvard Bass, Emalkay, Azari & III, Alexi Delano, L-vis 1990, True Nature, Max Mischief, Lenvi x Don Clark, Strong Bros, Crisp, Joro Boro, lots more at South Red Hook Grain Elevator [3-11PM/$30-40]
An unprecedented mini-festival on the Brooklyn Waterfront. FOUR stages, plus the usual BangOn assortment of carnival rides, projection mapped set-pieces, food vendors etc. Goes all day, with 2 of the stages closing at 9PM so you only have to pick between 2 concurrent headliners. Which, by the way, there are a lot of.

While there’s a lot of big names, we’re most excited for the Funkystepz. Their sound mashes up Miami Bass, UK Funky and Hardcore Rave sounds, making everything they touch turn to smoldering bass music gold.
